You send us a gold chain made of 750 yellow gold weighing 40 g. The 40-g chain is made of 75% gold, so it contains 30 g of pure gold.

In this example, the jewellery alloy also contains 4 g of silver.

Standard (yellow) gold jewellery often also contains a small amount of silver. We determine the precise composition of the alloy in our precious metal lab.
