Information about ESG

Before you sell your valuable scrap to us, entrust it to us for reworking or buy investment precious metals from us, you are naturally entitled to find out more about our company:

The company ESG Edelmetall-Service GmbH & Co. KG, based in Rheinstetten in Germany (near Karlsruhe) and its subsidiary in Schänis, near Zurich in Switzerland, recycles precious metal-bearing scrap from the dental, jewellery, electroplating and electronics industries throughout Europe. Our company operates both for the precious metal processing industry and in the area of private precious metal purchase and sale as a recycling and trading company. We have customers throughout Europe. Our commercial customers include renowned companies in the precious metal processing industry.

Furthermore, we trade in precious metal products such as gold bars, silver bars, gold granulate, silver granulate, gold salt, platinum wire, silver anodes, sputtering targets (Au, Ag, Pd, Pt), semi-finished products, etc. and carry out precious metal analyses of solids, powders and liquids.

Incidentally, the now popular investment product Combi bars is a patented invention of ESG.

For many years we have also been offering our precious metal recycling and precious metal purchasing services to private individuals. For this purpose, we have a specifically set-up department called "Purchase of small quantities of precious metals by post" (for the purchase of jewellery, scrap gold, dental gold, electrolytic silver, platinum and smaller lots of industrial scrap).

In the field of gold purchasing and precious metal recycling from private customers and small businesses, we receive more than 20,000 consignments every year, which are analysed individually in our precious metal testing laboratory for their precious metal content and paid to the customer immediately. Following evaluation, the material is kept in the safe for 5 working days (Monday - Friday) to allow for possible queries. Our precious metal purchase becomes profitable exclusively through bulk business. This enables us to offer private individuals the opportunity to sell their precious metal directly to a professional precious metal dealer. Many customers also come in person if they wish to attend the analysis personally.

In the course of the generation change, the company ESG emerged from a merger of Schüßler Metallgroßhandel and Leiterplatten Zentralankauf Dominik Lochmann LZL. In 2001, we moved into our newly built ESG metal scrap acceptance centre, which is equipped with the latest analysis and security technology. In 2004, ESG finally took over all the business of Schüßler Metallgroßhandel. In 2007, we expanded our administration building by adding an office extension and by purchasing the adjacent property to add a further storage hall for our commercial industrial scrap customers. Due to the strong increase in private customers who send us their scrap gold or visit us personally to purchase it, we again expanded our private customer area in 2009 by building an annex. We now offer 9 separate purchase rooms for private customers who wish to make personal purchase appointments with us on the basis of recommendations or their own research. Our postal purchase service is likewise gaining in popularity, as customers prefer to entrust their valuable material to a real precious metal dealer like us instead of anonymous online purchase shops. Accordingly, we have permanently increased our well-trained staff and expanded our laboratory area.

From just a few grams to hundreds of tons of scrap metal, we are your competent partner for all aspects of precious metal recycling.
Our purchasing process is QM-certified by DEKRA according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
